The Turquoise Body
Reawaken - Reconnect - Reclaim
I am a movement practitioner, teacher and intuitive with over 30 years of experience. I have completed traditional academic degrees, possess certifications in personal training and health coaching, and am a Reiki Master Teacher. I have expanded my understanding of movement and healing through modalities such as Trager (Level 1) and The Feldenkrais Method (self-study for over 12 years), personal curiosity, reading and exploration, my time and work with many amazing clients, and my own body and life journey.
My Journey:
My life thus far has been a journey of highs and lows, flow and stagnation, joy and sadness. I have ventured through relationships, family and human dynamics, birth and loss, academia, healing modalities, athletics and fitness. I have felt lost and alone as well as connected and loved. I have experienced great vulnerability and have often chosen to run and hide as a form of self-protection. Emerging into my own has been a process and a willingness to look within. Taking steps into the seemingly safe unknowns has allowed me much experiential learning. I am curious and I see the depths of people and the world, beyond the surface and superficial. When something is unclear, I ask questions. When I want people to find their answers, I ask questions. But I come from a place of compassion; I can feel the discomfort of others and I know discomfort myself. But discomfort is an opportunity, if we allow ourselves to unfold the deeper truths. I am very comfortable with emotion, mine and others. But I am also sensitive to the fact that what seems like a trickle of water to me can be a tidal wave to another person. So step by step is key. I love to learn and always learn whether I am the student or the teacher. Growth and expansion are imperative to me. I relish my times for rest and quiet introspection. This allows me to be fully present during my times of interaction. I hold safe space for people and offer them the opportunity to connect within and be with their heart, body and full being. From a young age, I have been interested in movement: whether sport, fitness, or lifestyle. Moving and being physical has always given me an opportunity for belonging as well as for grounding and self-regulation. As an athlete I was all about pushing myself and achieving excellence. With maturity, that perspective shifted into understanding the importance of physical awareness and listening to what our bodies are telling us. I have undertaken my own body journey that has included seeing my life and experiences from the perspective of my body. This includes the injuries, trauma and cultural beliefs and expectations that have left tension and holding patterns as well as freedom and flow in my physical self. I have discovered this story through writing but also through tuning in and spending time really sensing and understanding how muscles work and move me, and how my body wants and doesn’t want to move. This is how we connect with what lives within us. It has been an empowering journey as well as a revealing of a deep truth. We are sacred beings and all that we are is integrated into our physical body.

The Turquoise Body represents our full capacity to be integrated, aligned, healed physical beings, capable of standing in our compassionate truth, and expressing from this grounded yet expansive place.
